Fav Modes: Display & Edit

Display & Edit
Fav Modes Display & Edit and why you need to favor Display.

Favorite lists have two modes of operation, Display and Edit.

Display mode is entered in one of three ways —

  1. By selecting one of the two Fav links at the bottom of any Bible Nav page.
  2. By selecting a Fav link from any All Favorites ‘Display’ listing.
  3. By selecting one of the many Display links placed throughout a Fav list when the list is in Edit mode.

In Display mode, you can view the passages in the Fav list.

Edit mode is entered in one of three ways —

  1. By adding a passage from the Bible Reader page.
  2. By selecting a Fav link from any All Favorites ‘Edit’ listing.
  3. By selecting one of the many Edit links placed throughout a Fav list when the list is in Display mode.

In Edit mode, you can edit the individual passages in the Fav list, edit all passages at once in the list, and perform edit operations between two Fav lists.

While Edit mode is where the work is done with a Fav list, it is in Display mode where true results come from a Fav list.

Why should you favor Display over Edit?  In Display mode, you won't see the ‘link and gadget clutter’ that comes with Edit.  You can focus more easily on the passages themselves without any distractions.  Finally, you won't have to worry about accidently selecting some random Edit operation when you scroll from passage to passage.  My recommendation then: in a Fav list, when no Edit work is needed, Display is the place you want to be!

Last Word: Message

Looking at Fav lists has become one of my ‘favorite’ pasttimes.  I can look at them anyplace at anytime.  My face can be bathed in the glow of my smartphone screen while I gaze at my favorite passages.  Even at work, when everyone pauses to check their messages, I can be checking my messages too.

1Jo 1:5 :  This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
